Oily Joe
Lieberman has a couple of new ads up today, too, including this one touting his supposed credentials on energy:
Lieberman's real position on energy?
Lieberman's real position on energy?
- He was the only New England Democrat to vote for George Bush's 2005 Energy Bill which gave $14.5 billion in tax breaks to the same Big Oil companies he now claims are "gouging" consumers.
- He has accepted tens of thousands of dollars in campaign donations and at least one private jet flight from a company that California's Attorney General called "Enron's twin brother."
- He was pretty much the last politician in the region - in either party - to oppose the contruction of the Broadwater LNG terminal in Long Island Sound, flip-flopping on the issue only after Ned Lamont made noises about jumping in the race back in January.
