Tuesday Round-Up
- Tonight, Ned will attend a small-dollar fundraiser in D.C. hosted by the local DFA group.
- Tomorrow, Ned will be speaking at the Take Back America conference in D.C., on a panel with Rep. Lynn Woolsey, Tom Matzzie of MoveOn, and Ambassador Joe Wilson.
- Jane Hamsher reported yesterday on a blogger meeting with Harry Reid at the YearlyKos convention, and Harry's comments regarding Ned and the CT-SEN race:
...I said Ned is a genuinely good candidate, and Reid agreed. He said he’d met with Ned twice and liked him a lot. And as to the opposition we’ve been mounting against Joe? Reid said it to me twice, and he chose his words very carefully:
It’s important for people to know that their actions have consequences.
By which I took it to mean, from the context, that Lieberman’s actions have brought this on himself - Kos also writes about Harry Reid's "Lieberman problem."

Reid's consequences comment could just as easily be interpreted to mean that pro-Ned, anti-Joe activism will result in Joe's leaving the Party.
My guess is that that is what Reid meant and that he doesn't view a Lieberman defection as a positive development. Just a guess.

I agree that the quote as printed can be read a number of different ways, but Jane, who was in the room, seemed to be pretty certain of Reid's context and tone.
I don't think anyone in the Democratic party would view a Lieberman defection as "positive," and certainly not Reid, who would be forced to make some pretty difficult decisions.

Yep. You lay down with dogs and you get up with fleas.
Better reserve that Ryder truck, Joe, cuz you're going home. :-)
