Monday Night News Round-Up
- Lamont has reached a total of 1,300 online donors nationwide who have together contributed nearly $70,000 on ActBlue. The campaign would love a strong showing in advance of the 1Q reporting deadline at the end of the month. Contribute.
- Down With Tyranny continues its full-frontal assualt on Lieberman and his crew by posting the email sent to the Huffington Post by former ex-Lieberman senior staffer Dan Gerstein in response to ex-record industry executive (and DWT blogger) Howie Klein's recent assertion that Lieberman has a history of holding borderline bigoted and homophobic positions. If you haven't followed the back-and-forth closely, The Hotline's "Blogometer" does a decent job of summarizing the dust-up today. The real importance of all this? Either Lieberman acting through his friend, or his friend acting alone, is scared enough by Ned Lamont that he audaciously demanded that the Huffington Post remove portions of an opinion piece critical Lieberman. Blogometer also mentions that Dan Gerstein has a blog. Should be fun to check up on that one in the next few days.
- Latest Zogby poll pins Bush at 38% nationwide, in line with other recent polling. Among Lieberman "moderates"? 27%. Bush is breaking through his floor and he's dragging both his party and his favorite Democrat all the way with him to the basement. Joementum for everyone.

Joseph Lieberman wears so many hats. He collaborates with Lynne Cheney against academics. He plays End Time with evangelical Christians, appearing in Save a Jew for Jesus infomercials alongside such luminaries as Jerry Falwell & Pat Robertson. (See Paul Bass article):

No wonder he doesn't spend that much time with constituents. It's hard to top the company of Lynne Cheney & Pat Robertson. Moveon.org better move on and support Lamont.
