No One Is Showing Up For Lieberman's Events

Why isn't this the focus of every article about the Joementum 2006! Tour? This entire made-for-press spectacle is nominally about Joe connecting with voters across the state... so when they don't show up, shouldn't the news be that he's not finding any?

Anyway, let's try to help Joe get some better crowds tomorrow, once again. Perhaps someone will ask him why he took $1,000 from Wal-Mart's PAC yet is attending a rally condemning Wal-Mart's labor practices. Or why his campaign has defended slimy flyers attacking Lamont on race. Or why he's basically buying 4,000 votes from kids looking for summer jobs for $60 each on election day. Or why he personally still won't answer questions on Iraq, and may have personally killed a Democratic amendment on Iraq scheduled for a vote in the senate this week for his own selfish political reasons (if his stance on Iraq is so "principled," why is he not willing to defend it?)

Anyway, here's the schedule for tomorrow, for both Joe and Ned, below the fold:

Comments:
You know something? It really is no exaggeration that nobody is showing up for those Lieberman events. Is he really that unpopular? I certainly hope so...

Return the WalMart donations, Senator!

I got a visit from one.
A teen aged black kid came to my door - holding a Lieberman brochure. I asked him how much he was making - $60 bucks he said.
I showed him my sign I made for tomorrow's rally - "Joe takes Walmart PAC money". He wanted to know what PAC money was. He didn't know that there was going to be a rally in Bridgeport about Walmart. He goes to Kolbe Cathedral High School - Bridgeport.

I asked him if he knew that Joe was pro-war - he didn't know that. I asked him if he knew that Joe supported all of Bush's trade agreements, sending thousands of jobs out of Connecticut. He didn't know that.

I told him he should be ashamed of himself, and he made me ashamed to be a Bridgeport teacher. If he wants to work for a candidate, he should at least know the facts - and you do it for the love, not the money.

Poor kid.

Hi everyone ,

I was heading to work this morning when I noticed in Wallingford Leiberman supporters at a local breakfast-lunch place in my town of Wallingford.

So I stopped to see what was going on and also saw the kiss float in the front parking lot.

I was told Leiberman was coming on his tour bus.

about 10-15 minutes later the Bus pulls in a side enterance and Leiberman walks off th Bus with his key people .

I happen to be standing at the door to the Diner.

I am a news director at a local NPR station and asked directly before he walked into the Diner if he would come on for an interview before the Primary and he seem to be open to it will see what happens.

I will keep all updated on this .

Also a person outside with a lamont sign told me the Leiberman supporters outside were paid people brought in .

7-8 kids standing around with Leiberman signs and what appeared to be some key staff waiting for the bus to arrive.

Interesting morning going to work.

I've got some pictures and narrative from Joe's "event" yesterday in Dayville. Check out my blog for more.

Sue says, "I told him he should be ashamed of himself, and he made me ashamed to be a Bridgeport teacher. If he wants to work for a candidate, he should at least know the facts - and you do it for the love, not the money."

:) I can imagine this type of conversation taking place throughout Conn. Wasn't his response something like, "all I have to do for my sixty bucks is "talk" to people -- the "Need Cash" sign didn't say I had to talk about Lieberman!"
