Lieberman Rules Out Independent Run
So says Walter Shapiro in an article on the race at Salon:
Note, he didn't say anything about ruling out a GOP run.
Other news from the article:
For his part, Lieberman insisted, as he ruled out an independent campaign for the Senate, "I am a Democrat. I believe in the Democratic Party. I believe in the vision of JFK and, I must say, the vision of Bill Clinton."
Note, he didn't say anything about ruling out a GOP run.
Other news from the article:
- Lamont tells Salon he "may invest as much as $500,000 of his own money in the contest."
- Lamont reveals his favorite candidate in the 2004 primaries was Bob Graham, although he did give $500 to Lieberman's campaign.
- Jim Dean of DFA has these very kind words for Ned: "I think [the primary is] good for the party, no matter how many votes Ned gets. He's getting people fired up."
- One-third is the number being floated as the most optimistic possibility for delegates at the convention.
- Ned and Jim Dean will be seated together at the JJB dinner tomorrow night.
