Monday Round-Up
- Ari Melber has more on the sad Lieberman-Hannity break-up at the Huffington Post. Remember the Calling All Wingnuts action planned for today and the rest of the week.
- Buried in an AP piece about Democratic frustration with Lieberman is this prognostication from New Britain DTC Chair John McNamara:
McNamara estimates that more than half of New Britain's 31 delegates are leaning toward backing Lamont.
- A report on Joe's appearance in Norwich:
"I know there's controversy," he told the gathering. "I don't support it because of the Bush Administration. I support it because I believe it is right. But Iraq is only one part of my record. Look at my record. I'm a Democrat, a proud Democrat."
A "proud Democrat?" He's got an odd way of showing it:Recent comments by Lieberman suggesting he would not rule out an independent bid in November if he should lose the August primary have only added fuel to the controversy. When pressed on the comment Sunday, Lieberman dismissed the remark as being "overblown." But he would not rule it out, either.
