"I'm a registered Republican," said George Zoghbi, of Avon. "But I've been a supporter of Joe since he ran for attorney general."

There were also strong pockets of support for Lieberman along the route -- often, like Zoghbi, Republicans who will march across party lines when they vote in November.

Lamont will teach classes at Capital Community College in Hartford and Harding High School in Bridgeport today as part of the plan's rollout. It addresses the need for universal high-quality pre-school, after-school activities, help paying for college, and math and science enhancements.
