Not One of Us

I just randomly tuned to Sean Hannity on the radio in the car and heard that Lieberman was going to be on as a guest - again - today.

All Democrats should welcome the vote of Sen. Lieberman (Lieberman) to organize the senate with Democrats, the same way we should welcome any such vote from the right side of the aisle.

But let me be as clear in my words as Connecticut Democrats were in their votes both in August and - even more emphatically - yesterday:

Joe Lieberman is no longer a Democrat.

He has no more right to call himself one, or to speak for Democrats in our new majorities, than any of Sean Hannity's other best friends do.

And for this, we can thank Ned too.
Comments:
Hey seedcrap,

Joe got his ass kicked by 10,000 votes in the primary, left the Democratic Party, FORMED HIS OWN party, AND got his ass kicked again against Ned Lamont AMONG DEMOCRATS in the general election.

Joe Lieberman is NO LONGER a DEMOCRAT. There is now an I after his name and he decided to caucus with the Dems after Reid promised to let him have his senority.

People who place their own self interest over the will of the Democratic Party (such as what Joe did when he ignored the outcome of primary) should be booted from the Party pronto. What Lieberman did in rallying the Republican base thus placing Diane Farrell and Joe Courtney's campaign in jeopardy (Farrell lost and Courtney is in jeopardy) should never be forgotten.

The only tool is you and people like you, Bill Finch, Pat Dillion and James Amann are part of the problem and why there hasn't been a Democratic Gov in CT since O'Neil.

Now f-off!

Seed-freak - without liberals, you will never win another election in your lifetime... You think that everytime you run a conservative dem, the republicans will just roll over and not run a real candidate. Enjoy going the way of the whigs if the liberals leave the democratic party.

Also. do you not see how intellectually contradictory it is to accuse someone of not wanting a big tent and then telling them to get out of your party?

NTAC

The facts are Lieberman ran against the Democratic nominee, with enthusiastic support by Republicans.

Joe made his choice to abandon the Democratic party by his actions.

Thanks to MoveOn.org and Ned Lamont, a formerly Democratic Senate seat is now Independent despite the Dems' pick-up of several other Senate seats.

Re: "Joe Lieberman is no longer a Democrat. He has no more right to call himself one, or to speak for Democrats in our new majorities, than any of Sean Hannity's other best friends do."

MoveOn.org, Ned Lamont, and Al Sharpton (a well-known racist and anti-Semite) brought it on yourselves. "Jew Lieberman" as they call him at MoveOn.org was a centrist Democrat until MoveOn.org & Co. forced him out.

It's quite likely that MoveOn.org also blew the 6th Congressional District (PA) for the Dems as well. Incumbant Jim Gerlach used the MoveOn.org Action Forum hate speech scandal (probably with information that I provided him with) against challenger Lois Murphy, who lost by a few thousand votes for accepting MoveOn.org support. Serves her right.

In any event, you folks made your bed in Connecticut by putting up Lamont in the first place; now you must lie in it.

And by that stunning bit of logic Chris Murphy who defeated Nancy Johnson in CT-05 by a wide margin may have completely shut her out with MoveOn.org's ads pinning her to corruption and selling out to the large pharmaceutical interests, to teh detriment of seniors.

winged nonsense,

Joe Lieberman BEGGED for Al Shapton and Jesse Jackson's support before they went to Lamont.

I have no regrets supporting a man who had the courage to stand up and say the war is wrong. If there were more Democrats like Ned Lamont, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in right now.

Go whine to the DLC.

Johnson failed to use MoveOn's hate speech against Murphy. In Pennsylvania, MoveOn's candidate Lois Murphy was expected to beat Jim Gerlach. Gerlach ran radio ads that cited Murphy's ties to MoveOn.org, and the hate speech that MoveOn sponsored. Murphy lost the election she was expected to win.

If Joe Lieberman asked for Al Sharpton's support, then he has really gone down in my estimation. Nonetheless, better him than a MoveOn.org candidate.
