Party Of One, Please?

Lieberman's new party name: Connecticut for Lieberman. Not joking.

At least he won't have any loyalties higher than this party.

Welcome, Sen. Lieberman (Lieberman-CT).

Update: Atrios is right. He should have just named the party "Lieberman for Lieberman." Would have been more accurate, anyway.
Comments:
I prefer the following designation:

Joe Lieberman (AIPAC)

Slightly more succinct, more reflective of where his loyalties lie.

No... Its all about alphabetic order on the machines in November... C is before R and D

A Lamont supporter got the domain names for connecticutforlieberman.com, org, and net!

God Damned shame Rep. John Lewis (D, GA) has gotten himself dragged into this. Is he speaking from an understanding of the issues and Connecticut voters, or from an inside the beltway affinity? I was really shocked to read this Newsday quote.

"But U.S. Rep. John Lewis, a Democrat from Georgia, said Lieberman has his support no matter what happens in the primary. Lewis was in Hartford Monday with Lieberman and U.S. Rep. John Larson, D-Conn., discussing faith-based initiatives to fight youth violence.

"I stick with my friends," Lewis said. "He's going to win. You heard it from John Lewis. He's going to win." "

I like Lewis, he was one of the good guys. Rep. John Conyers (D, MI)on the other hand, liked the Kiss button and said "Oh, He's Got to Go!" Yet, with my limited knowledge of Congressional votes, I would say Conyers is a little more moderate than Lewis. DAMN! Next Lewis will be dissing Rep. Murtha for Cut and Run.

I've been trying to find a single instance where there has been an American political party named for an individual. Anyone know of another one? Not even Perot was such a casual egoist to do that.
